The project focused on the St. Josephs School for the Deaf which is a charitable Institution run by the Sisters of Perpetual Help for the education of young students who are impaired in hearing. Presently the school has 200 students of whom 125 are day students whilst 75 are provided accommodation facilities. St. Joseph’s School for the Deaf at Ragama is a charitable Institution run by the Sisters of Perpetual Help. The school was in dire need of a suitable place with facilities for the pupils to take their meals.

The PPA Excom team made three visits to the school. Assistance was provided to renovate an old kitchen within the premises to a lunch room. The room that was also furnished with tables and benches will be officially opened on 19th March 2013.  

Five Computers (donated by Associated Motorways (Pvt) Ltd), two Dongles (donated by Etisalat Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.), and computer tables (donated by PPA) were given to the school for the use of the children. The Computers have been transported and installed. The AMW contribution which is an asset to the school is much appreciated.
