It was a trip down memory lane as a bunch of 250 past Bridgeteens arrived at SBC bright and early on the 14th of July 2012 for the annual PPA day out. The location this year was the beautiful Jetwing Blue in Negombo.
It was lovely to see all the familiar faces and it reminded us of the good old school days. The PPA had organized 6 buses for our fun day out. This year the theme was ‘Hawaii’. We were given beautiful garlands and bracelets with pink flowers when we got into the buses. The PPA committee had taken a lot of trouble with these beautiful accessories. We were each given a lovely box of short eats for breakfast.
We had so much fun on the way to Jetwing Blue that in no time we were at the hotel. We were greeted with cold towels and a refreshing fruit drink.

We were then divided into groups and took part in many fun games. We were school girls once again! Some relaxed, cheered their team and preferred to chat with their friends reminiscing the school days and catching up on all the time missed. We snacked on acharu which was heavenly.

It was soon lunch time and each one made their way to the scrumptiousbuffet. After a fulfilling meal some dispersed for a swim, some for an afternoon siesta, while others took in the cool sea breeze mingling with friends.

The highlight of the day was when each group had to have a person dressed as a Hawaiian dancer. Each group put in a lot of effort to bring out the best dancer. The Hawaiian dancer in our group was brilliant as she acted and danced beautifully. It was no surprise whenour group won First place. The day wouldn’t have been complete without some Baila dancing with nearly all of us joining in.
We were served cake and biscuits for tea. As all good things have to come to an end, we returned to Colombo after an enjoyable and memorable day. Hats off to the Bridgeteen PPA committee for organizing such a fun filled day!
