Zippy the Zebra Puppet Show

What an exciting morning it was on 3rd October for the little childrenin the Montessori of St Bridget’s Convent, when Zippy the zebra, along with his jungle friends, visited them.  Zippy and his   friends enthralled the children with their exploits anddialogue, leaving them with the heart-warming message of how important it is to make friends.

Zippy the zebra, the brainchild of SulochanaDissanayake, a talented past Bridgetine, was a puppet show, where the twin assets of both puppetry and acting were skilfully demonstrated. Her varying tone of voice depicting the different animals was hailed with delight by the little ones.  It was an interactive session where the responses of the little ones were called for, and this they did most spontaneously, giving credit to the training received at the Montessori.  A bouquet to you Sister Remona, and your staff.

At the end of the show, there was a zesty song and dance session by the little kids, with Sister Remona, being an endearing and active participant together with the PPA members who were present. It was indeed a pleasure to see the rapport between Sister and the little ones.  The morning culminated with the children being given little packs of Maliban biscuits, organized through DilaniYatawaka, and sweets given by Sister Remona.

All in all it was a delightful   morning and we are so happy that we could play a part in the Children's day celebrations at the SBC Montessori.

This was the 5thprogram carried out by the PPA under the “Events with school ‘category.
